CLUB SHOW SCHEDULE

The following comments are intended as a guide only.
In-hand showing isnt just a matter of conformation and movement, its on how the handler can get the best out of there horse/pony. If you have a horse with good conformation/movement but isn’t shown well something less good but shown better will do better. Present your horse/pony and yourself in a neat, tidy and clean condition. Always have control, a judge will excuse a youngster a few bucks and kicks but more mature animals are expected to have manners. All manes should be plaited , except M & M and Arab who should be shown natural. Tails look better plaited or pulled, again except M & M and Arab. An In-hand or showing cane is allowed and should be used to guide and indicate what is wanted of your horse/pony.

The following comments are intended as a guide only.
In a Ridden Show class you should present your horse/pony and yourself in a neat, tidy and clean condition. Your horse/pony should have the correct tack, usually double bridle, well fitting saddle with a leather, white or dark girth. Try to avoid using a numnah or saddle cloth. All should have plaited manes and plaited or pulled tails, except for M & M, who should be shown natural and Cob Types, who should have hogged mane and trimmed tail. A show cane is permitted, but not a crop or schooling whip. The rider should be dressed smartly in the correct show jacket, light coloured jodhpurs and long boots for adults and jodhpur boots for children. No visible jewellery. e.g earrings. Show hats or velvet covered scull caps, but no bright covers, gloves. The show should include all the paces but not be over long, normally a walk away, one figure of eight each of trot and canter then finish with a straight line gallop or extended canter. You must be in control of your horse/pony at all times.

This Class is judged solely on riding ability and not on turnout, although correct attire is still required. A difficult/strong pony or horse ridden well may score higher points than a well behaved pony ridden well.

Although this is a ridden class, competitors will not be asked to do a show. They will be judged solely on the cleanliness of rider and mount along with overall turnout and presentation.

THIS SHOW SCHEDULE WILL BE UP-DATED FOR 2009
